The attorneys at Maldegen, Templeman & Indall, LLP assist clients in protecting their families and their assets with estate planning services, preparation of wills, trusts and general and healthcare powers of attorney. We can assist with the preparation of simple wills and trusts or more comprehensive plans in broader wills and revocable or irrevocable trusts.
Individuals with average assets will likely only need a will, an advance medical directive and powers of attorney for healthcare and for managing their assets. These documents assure that their wishes are followed in the event of incapacitation or death. In the case of clients with substantial assets or complex family situations, a more comprehensive plan may be necessary in order to minimize the expense of probate and tax liability for their family. Our goal is to help guide our clients through preparation of an estate plan which will make their intentions known, and protect their assets and their families after their death.
Additionally, when a relative or friend passes away, we can assist clients with initial advice regarding the first and long-term steps to be taken to address their assets and obligations. Many, but not all, assets and liabilities can be addressed without a probate and our attorneys can advise you whether a probate is necessary and assist you with the probate process if it is needed.
Because we are a small firm and our attorneys limit their practices to select areas, we can provide clients with personal attention and a depth of knowledge about these sensitive issues.
